I just love this smiley.
Can't help it.
It expresses so much in so few lines.
All hail to the real happy-smiley, king of the smileys to be!
that was a reference to Macbeth.

I feel obliged to correct you there:
According to my dictionary it means: "zelfvoldaan, zelfgenoegzaam"
This is Dutch for -I think it is- contemplate
i.e. being very happy and proud of what you can or have done and boasting about that.
It's a rather negative word, signifying you're too vai.
or somthing like that, my friend
Originally posted by Meneer DriesIt also means complacency or self-satisfaction.. trying to give the impression that you know the definition and have no need to consult a dictionary. It's the opposite of humility.

Actually "complacent" was the word I meant.
I'm almost too afraid to ask what "contemplate" really means.
Doesn't it mean: thinking stuff over?
Oh boy, I have a lot to learn about smugness.
Still, can't deny it's the cooles emoticon of allπ

Originally posted by Meneer DriesYou're close. Seemed is not exactly right.. the final verb is the key, not qualis. And yes, it is a definite sign of smugness, not to mention elitism, to write a Latin quotation.
I think I deciphered your Latin:
I am not what I seemed to be.
Am I right?
I forgot the meaning of qualis...
If I'm wrong please let me try another time, don't just give it away.
isn't it a sign of smugness to write Latin quotes?
